The Indian Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert nowcast for Mumbai today, the Thane and Panvel Municipal Corporations have announced holidays for schools and colleges in their areas.

Thane, Kalyan & interior MMR to receive heavy to very heavy rainfall, as per Rushikesh Agre (aka Mumbai Rains) on X.

Borivali - Andheri stretch, Vasai, Virar, Bhayandar tp receive consistent moderate-heavy rains, he added.

Navi Mumbai and rest of Mumbai to receive on-off showers, he further added.

Santacruz has recorded highest rainfall in Mumbai at 875.1 mm from Aug. 16-20 till 8:30 a.m.

BMC has issued high tide alert on Wednesday, amidst heavy rainfall alert in the city.

"Heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places in Mumbai city and suburbs, accompanied by occasional gusty winds reaching 45 to 55 kilometers per hour," it added.

  • High Tide - 10:14 AM - 4.02 meters

  • Low Tide - 4:18 PM - 1.91 meters

  • High Tide - 10:03 PM - 3.44 meters

  • Low Tide - 4:11 AM (next day, 21 August 2025) - 0.83 meters


Mumbai Rains News LIVE: Monorail Resumes Operations

Monorail services have resumed on Wednesday, after Monorail train (RST-4) got stuck between Bhakti Park and Chembur, near Mysore Colony station last night. About 582 passengers onboard were rescued.
