Delhi government's Mahila Samriddhi Scheme follows similar initiatives in other BJP-ruled states, such as the Ladli Behna Yojana in Madhya Pradesh and the Ladki Bahin Yojana in Maharashtra.

The Delhi government, led by Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, is expected to introduce the Mahila Samriddhi Scheme for women from economically weaker sections soon.
The scheme will provide eligible women a monthly financial assistance of Rs 2,500. According to The Indian Express, the scheme is slated to be launched on Mar. 8, which happens to be International Women's Day. Registrations are also likely to begin on the same day.
"Several rounds of meetings have taken place to finalise the modalities of the scheme. The Cabinet note will be ready by tomorrow, following which it will be put up for approval from the Council of Ministers. The scheme was among those taken up in the first Cabinet meeting held by the newly elected CM and the Council of Ministers," an official close to the development was quoted as saying by the news outlet.
The Delhi government plans to transfer the money directly into the bank accounts of beneficiaries through the Direct Benefit Transfer system.
