Director-actor Farhan Akhtar celebrated a major milestone on Monday as his directorial debut, Dil Chahta Hai, completed 25 years since its release. The 2001 coming-of-age romance/comedy drama continues to be regarded as one of the most influential Hindi films, remembered for its modern storytelling, memorable characters, and portrayal of friendship across different phases of life.
To mark the occasion, Farhan shared a special poster from the film on Instagram and expressed gratitude to audiences for keeping the film alive over the years.

Along with the poster, Farhan reflected on the film's enduring popularity with a nostalgic note. He wrote that it was hard to believe the film had completed 25 years and joked that its three lead characters - Akash, Sameer and Sid - did not appear to have aged. Thanking viewers for their continued love, he said he was filled with gratitude that the film remains relevant even after two and a half decades.
