As Assam continues to battle severe flooding, several public figures have stepped forward to support relief efforts in the state.
Joining the growing list of celebrities lending a helping hand, comedian Samay Raina has contributed to the relief initiatives by making a donation to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund. His contribution comes as thousands of people across the state continue to face the impact of the devastating floods.
Samay Raina Contributes Rs 10 Lakh To Relief Fund
According to Hindustan Times, Samay Raina has donated Rs 10 lakh to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support flood relief and rehabilitation work. The contribution was acknowledged by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who thanked the comedian for extending his support during the ongoing crisis.
The Chief Minister's Office also shared details of the donation on X (formerly Twitter) by posting a screenshot of the RTGS transaction. In its post, the official handle confirmed that the Chief Minister had acknowledged Samay Raina's contribution to the relief fund.

Flood Situation In Assam
As reported by PTI, the flood situation in Assam remains serious, with more than 1.55 lakh people still affected across the state. The death toll from this year's floods has risen to 98.
Among the worst-affected districts is Golaghat, where 58,750 people have been impacted, followed by Sivasagar and Jorhat. A day earlier, more than 1.68 lakh people across 15 districts were reported to be affected by the floods.
Before Samay Raina's donation, actors Bhumi Pednekar and Randeep Hooda had travelled to Assam to participate in relief operations. According to Hindustan Times, Randeep visited flood-hit areas in Sivasagar, where he distributed essential kitchen supplies with the help of an NGO and appealed to people to support relief efforts.
Bhumi Pednekar also visited affected villages with the Bharat Disaster Relief Foundation (BDRF). She travelled by boat and walked through floodwaters to reach stranded families, sharing updates from the ground and urging support for those impacted by the disaster.
