After a brief period of brutal heatwave, people living in Mumbai and the coastal districts of Maharashtra will get some relief. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted that the affected regions will experience some respite. 

Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, and Ratnagiri districts of Maharashtra were on a ‘yellow' alert on Wednesday due to abnormally high temperatures, triggering heatwave-like conditions.

“Today heat wave conditions prevailed at most places with severe heat waves at isolated pockets over Saurashtra and Kutch, heat wave conditions at most places over Gujarat region at isolated pockets over southwest Rajasthan, and Konkan Goa,” the weather body said in a post on Mar. 12.
