The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to announce the results for the Class 10 board examination soon. Some students may wish to take improvement exams after the declaration of results. Previously, students could sit for an improvement exam in the following year; however, with the introduction of the two-board exam system this year, the rules have changed. CBSE will now offer all students another opportunity to enhance their scores in the May 2026 examinations.
While the chance to better their Class 10 board exam results will be available, students should keep in mind that there is no option for improving scores in internal assessments, as these are assessed throughout the year.

CBSE had launched the Two Board Examination Policy based on the suggestions contained in the NEP 2020. The second board exam will take place in May 2026, providing Class 10 students with a chance to improve their results in three subjects.
Conditions for second board exam
- It is essential for every student to participate in the initial Board examination.
- All students who have passed and are qualified may enhance their scores in any three subjects among Science, Mathematics, Social Science, and languages.
- Should a student fail to attempt 3 or more subjects in the initial examination, they will be ineligible for the second examination. Such individuals are permitted to take the principal examination only the following year during February. Consequently, they will be unable to submit LOC.
- Students who receive a compartment result in the first examination are allowed to participate in the second examination under the Compartment category.
