Pushpa 2: The Rule has been making the right buzz after the film hit the screens on Thursday. The Allu Arjun starrer has turned out to be the biggest opener in the history of Indian cinema.
The worldwide gross box office collection for Pushpa 2 on the opening day stood at Rs 294 crore, according to the makers.
"The biggest Indian film creates history at the box office. #Pushpa2TheRule grosses 294 CRORES worldwide on Day 1 making it the highest opening day in Indian Cinema," the makers of the Telugu film said in a post on X.
Pushpa 2 did a net collection of 164.25 crore on the opening day in India, industry tracker Sacnilk estimated. With this, the action drama surpassed the record of SS Rajamouli's RRR, which earned Rs 133 crore on the first day.
Pushpa 2: Hindi Box Office Collection Day 1
Pushpa 2 collected Rs 72-crore net on its opening day in its Hindi-dubbed version, becoming the biggest opener ever for a Hindi movie in India, which was previously held by Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan.
Trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared a list of records broken by Pushpa 2's Hindi version.
Early estimates suggest that by the end of the weekend, Pushpa 2 is likely to surpass Rs 250 crore. Presently, the movie is enjoying its rank as one of the highest-grossing Indian opening films ever made.
Directed by Sukumar, the plot of Pushpa 2 takes forward the story where the first version, Pushpa: The Rise, ended. The movie narrates the story of red sandalwood smuggling.
Allu Arjun reprises his role as Pushpa Raj, alongside Rashmika Mandanna as Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil as Bhanwar Singh Shekawat. Jagapathi Babu, Dhananjaya, Rao Ramesh, Sunil and Anasuya Bharadwaj are also a part of the project.
