Another month, another power-packed lineup of new shows is waiting for your attention. From animated to political thrillers and true-crime documentaries, Netflix's fresh content has something for all kinds of viewers.
Besides Wednesday, Raphael Bob-Waksberg's new animated series, 'Long Story Short' is also a highly anticipated show on Netflix. After the immense success of BoJack Horseman, this new series is also expected to adopt a unique storytelling style. ‘Long Story Short’ follows a family in different periods.

Here's What Releases On Netflix In August:\
Wednesday Season 2 Part 1 (Aug. 6): Fans are eagerly waiting for the return of Wednesday Addams' played by Jenna Ortega, after Season 1 ended with a major plot twist linked to its leading character, Tyler Galpin (played by Hunter Doohan). Netflix will release the new season in two parts: Part 1 premieres on August 6, followed by Part 2 on September 3.
Long Story Short (Aug. 22): Raphael Bob-Waksberg's new animated series releases on Aug. 22. Netflix has kept much of the details of this show under wraps, but it remains to be seen if the writers will once again explore complex themes of life while balancing them with comedy.
Hostage (Aug. 21): Hostage is a British thriller about a prime minister, whose world unravels when her husband is kidnapped by terrorists. Featuring Suranne Jones, Julie Delpy and Corey Mylchreest, the show releases on Aug. 21.
The Truth About Jussie Smollett? (Aug. 22): This documentary examines the 2019 case where US actor Smollett was accused of staging a hate crime. Smollett will share his story in this documentary set to premiere on Aug. 22 on the platform.
Saare Jahan Se Accha (Aug. 13): In this gripping series, Pratik Gandhi will play a spy who is on a mission to keep India ahead of its enemies. The show premiers on Aug. 13, two days ahead of Independence Day celebrations.
Other shows and movies coming to Netflix in August include Love is Blind: UK (Season 2), Songs From the Hole (2025), and Young Millionaires (Season 1), Fisk (Season 3) and Rivers of Fate (Season 1), The Thursday Murder Club (2025), Love Untangled (2025), Unknown Number: The High School Catfish (2025).
