Samsung Galaxy Unpacked is just hours away. While the spotlight will be on the much-anticipated Samsung Galaxy S25 series, some other highlights that are all set to grab eyeballs include Galaxy AI features, One UI 7 update and Galaxy AR/Project Moohan. Not to forget: While Samsung Galaxy S25, Samsung Galaxy S25 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones are certain to launch, the South Korean tech major could give a sneak peek into the Galaxy S25 Slim too.
Here’s all that you need to look out for at the Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025.
The Spotlight: Samsung Galaxy S25 Series
The launch is expected to feature the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus, and Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphones. All three are built around the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and are set to feature Qi2 wireless charging support, a slightly refreshed design, and new AI capabilities. They should come with 120Hz AMOLED displays and One UI 7 skin based on Android 15.
While the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus will have triple-camera configurations—with a 50MP primary camera, 10MP telephoto lens, and 12MP ultrawide lens—Galaxy S25 Ultra smartphone could stand out with its 200MP shooter along with 50MP ultrawide, 10MP telephoto, and 5X optical zoom periscope lens.
New Features In Samsung One UI 7
One UI 7, which is already running on some Samsung devices, adds a new look and feel to the lock screen, reduces clutter, improves animations, with special features such as Now Bar and a vertically scrolling app launcher. Galaxy AI integration provides modules for call transcriptions in 20+ languages, writing tools, content summarising and more. It also comes with updated Knox security and theft protection capabilities.
New AI Capabilities
Recent leaks indicate new AI features will likely be included in the Samsung Galaxy 25 series. These include Brief Now (smartphone usage insights), improved integration with Gemini AI, new AI-powered Night Video mode, and Audio Eraser feature.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim Preview
Samsung is working on a slimmer version of the Galaxy S25 family. The spanking new smartphone has reportedly been called the Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim, which it could preview at Galaxy Unpacked. It could be just 6.4mm thick, with a 6.7 to 6.8-inch display. According to some reports, it will pack a 200MP primary camera, matching the Galaxy S24 Ultra's technical specs.
Project Moohan Mixed Reality Device Could Launch
While there were speculations of a preview of Samsung’s next XR headgear—code-named Project Moohan—rumour has it that Samsung could launch the device at Galaxy Unpacked. The device is reported to run on the Android XR platform and is powered by the Snapdragon XR Plus Gen 2 chipset.
Galaxy Ring 2 May Be A No-Show
Although reports indicated that Samsung may announce the Galaxy Ring 2 at Unpacked, the device might be a no show after all. Samsung last week announced new Galaxy Ring sizes, which indicates that a Ring 2 might not be around the corner just yet.
How To Watch Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2025
The event will kick off at 11:30 PM IST on Jan. 22 and will be streamed live on Samsung.com, YouTube, and Samsung Newsroom. Another way through which fans will be kept in the loop is through the social media updates.
