Meta Launches Video Creation App ‘Edits,’ To Make Posting On Instagram, Facebook, Other Platforms Easier

Meta has launched Edits, a new video production app that lets you create videos right on your phone. If creating videos for social or elsewhere is your passion, Edits offers the resources you need in one app.

Meta has collaborated with a number of creators, tested concepts and incorporated their feedback in the process of creating the app, it said. It also gave early access to a group of creators, who shared their thoughts on Edits.

The company said its goal is to build creative tools to help creators express themselves freely, not just on Instagram and Facebook, but on others platforms as well. 

Making videos can be a difficult task that frequently calls for several apps and complicated processes. With Edits, you now have a dedicated app with several video production features, including:

Simpler Video Making And Posting Process: According to Meta, Edits allows longer camera captures (up to 10 minutes), easy project management and high-quality results. You can share directly to Instagram and Facebook from within the app, or export and post wherever you want with no added watermarks.

Powerful Editing Tools: The Edits app offers frame-accurate timeline with clip-level editing, auto-enhance features, and effects like green screen and transitions.

Data-Driven Insights: The app also offers real-time feedback on factors that can affect distribution (like skip rate) so you know what’s working and what to try next.

Meta said it is working on adding more features in various areas, including: 

Keyframes: The feature will allow you to choose exact moments for adjustments to your video’s timing, motion, and effects.

Modification: This feature will leverage AI effects to quickly change the look and feel of your videos.

Collaboration: It enables you to easily share drafts with friends, other creators, or brands for feedback and creative builds.

Creativity: More fonts, text animations, transitions, voice effects, filters and music options, including royalty-free, will be included.
