Excitement has hit an all-time high in the gaming community as the GTA 6 release date draws near. In fact, as soon as fans hear about some fresh Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks, there is a huge adrenaline rush as can be seen in the social media frenzy virtually on a daily basis.
However, after the launch of the first GTA 6 trailer in Dec. 2023, Rockstar Games is keeping everything under the hood. Having said that, recent online listings and industry predictions have started a new debate about the game’s launch date and pricing. In fact, the latest GTA 6 release date leak even mentioned the actual date.
GTA 6 Release Date Leaked
XUruguay, a Spanish retailer, reportedly listed the GTA 6 release date that mentioned the September 17, 2025 date. However, this was quickly removed. A lot is being read into this simply because, interestingly, the date marks the 12th anniversary of GTA 5’s release. Not just that, adding more weight to this GTA 6 leak is that it also fits with Rockstar’s previously announced Fall 2025 window.
Jumping onto the bandwagon was gaming site 80 Level, which said XUruguay reportedly has ties with PlayStation, which adds to curiosity regarding the accuracy of the leak. However, it's still not clear if the retailer had some insider information regarding the launch and made a mistake by making it public or was just playing a guessing game. As of now, neither Rockstar nor its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, has officially announced the release date.
GTA 6 Price Speculation
Another aspect about GTA 6 launch is the potential price tag. A report named “State of Video Gaming in 2025,” by Industry analyst Matthew Ball has taken a shot at it. The claim has it that GTA 6 price, of the standard edition, will hit the $100-mark. This may well disappoint fans as the standard rate they are used to is around the $70-mark.
However, considering that Rockstar has been working on GTA 6 for years and has spent huge amounts in developing the game, a big price hike is widely expected. But having said that, it may well prove counter-productive in the long run for Rockstar given the fact that the anticipation among fans is for a standout game to be rolled out. However, if it does not meet fans' and analysts expectations, there will be a big backlash, especially if there was a huge price hike.
Supported Platforms And PC Release
GTA 6 will only be available on next-gen consoles- PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game won’t run on PlayStation 4 or Xbox One as Rockstar is focused on next-gen hardware capabilities.
A powerful GPU and ample RAM is needed for smooth gameplay. In effect, those with older gadgets may not be able to properly run the game.
For now, all eyes are on Rockstar Games for an official confirmation about the GTA 6 release date.
