Caught On Camera! Take A Peek At The "Real" Google Pixel 9a

The upcoming Google Pixel 9a has been caught on camera! The smartphone has popped up in a hands-on video ahead of launch, which is in just a few weeks. The latest leak stresses what could be the design and focuses especially on the camera feature on the device.

The video, available via GMSArena shows the Google Pixel 9a in its Obsidian colour, which is essentially black. One thing that stands out is its very plain camera bump - it no longer sports a huge hump as earlier Pixel models do. While the bump is much smaller than some of the company's other high-end smartphones, it doesn't suggest the device will have the best camera hardware. This design choice hints at a more compact setup, as larger camera sensors are usually more space-consuming. In fact, the camera may get a downgrade from the earlier massive 64MP main and a 13MP ultrawide camera on the Google Pixel 8a. The Google Pixel 9a is probably packing a 48MP main sensor and a 13MP ultrawide lens.

Reports indicate that Google will launch the Pixel 9a on March 19 and will go on sale starting March 26. The 128GB model should carry a price tag of $499 and the 256GB might be priced at $599, reports Autoblog. In both of those versions, 8GB RAM will be present, which will allow use of artificial intelligence along with other normal tasks.

The Google Pixel 9a is said to sport a 6.28-inch OLED screen with a peak brightness of 2,700 nits, which should be bright enough for outdoor visibility. Under the hood, it will be housed on Google’s Tensor G4 chipset, potentially improving both performance and efficiency.

Battery life should also be a strong suit, with a 5,100 mAh battery that should give you all day usability. The device will ship with Android 15 preloaded and is said to have the latest improvements and security updates.

The Pixel 9a will also be available in Obsidian, along with Porcelain, Iris, and Peony colors, according to some reports.
