Indian smartphone lovers can expect a wide variety of new arrivals in the new year. Many of these smartphones are anticipated to include Qualcomm’s newest and most sophisticated system-on-chip—Snapdragon 8 Elite—along with remarkable features and artificial intelligence capabilities. 

From Google Pixel 9a, Samsung Galaxy S25 series, Apple iPhone SE 4 to Xiaomi 15, here are seven upcoming smartphone launches in 2025.

Samsung Galaxy S25 

The Samsung Galaxy S25 series—featuring Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, and Galaxy S25 Ultra—will reportedly be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. A 5,000mAh battery, a 200MP primary sensor, a 50MP telephoto camera with a periscope lens, 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and a 6.86-inch screen are features expected to be packed in the phone. It will likely have new Galaxy AI features as well.

OnePlus 13

Early in 2025, the OnePlus 13 is expected to launch globally and make its way to India. The phone has a 6.8-inch BOE X2 LTPO Amoled display with a maximum brightness of 6,000 nits, a 6,000mAh battery that supports 50W magnetic wireless charging and 100W fast charging, and the most recent Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. A 50MP LYT-808 primary sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP telephoto lens will make up its triple camera configuration.

Google Pixel 9a

Although the Tensor G4 processor is expected to power the Google Pixel 9a, there are reports that the older Exynos 5300 modem might be utilised to keep expenses down. The phone is likely to sport a 6.3-inch AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and 8GB RAM in addition to 128GB of storage. It could house a 13MP front camera and a dual-camera configuration on the back (48MP primary wide camera and 13MP ultra-wide camera). The device will also likely have the Screen-Off Fingerprint Unlock feature with an ultrasonic scanner akin to the Pixel 9 series.

Apple iPhone SE 4 (iPhone 16e)

Apple may rename its upcoming iPhone SE 4 as the iPhone 16e to better match its flagship lineup. It will reportedly be the most reasonably priced iPhone with Apple Intelligence. It will feature Face ID for the first time, and is anticipated to include a 6.1-inch OLED screen, low bezels, a notch design, and the new A18 Bionic chipset. It might have one 48MP camera on the rear, Smart HDR, and enhanced video and Night Mode. Additionally, it might include a larger battery and support for USB Type-C charging.

Xiaomi 15

Qualcomm’s next-generation flagship chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite, powers the Xiaomi 15, which saw its China launch in October. In addition to having 12GB/16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage options, it packs a 5400mAh battery with 90W charging. The smartphone’s 6.36-inch LTPO OLED flat screen has a 120 Hz refresh rate. A 50MP telephoto sensor with a 3x optical zoom, a 50MP ultrawide lens, and a 50MP primary camera make up its camera setup.

Honour Magic 7

After their China launch, the Honour Magic 7, Magic 7 Pro, and RSR Porsche Design (with accents resembling Porsche cars) may launch globally, including in India, early next year. While the Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro have up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage and are powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, the RSR Porsche Design houses the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Edition chipset with up to 24GB RAM and 1TB of storage. The Magic 7 and Magic 7 Pro have a 50MP ultra-wide lens, 50MP primary sensors, and 50MP front cameras, while the RSR Porsche Design features a 200MP telephoto lens. As far as water and dust resistance is concerned, the phones are rated IP68 and IP69. The Magic 7 is powered by a 5,650mAh battery, whereas the Magic 7 Pro and RSR Porsche Design pack a 5,850mAh cell. There is support for 80W wireless and 100W cable fast charging too.

OPPO Reno 13

The Reno 13 and Reno 13 Pro models from OPPO are slated for a January 2025 launch after the company’s recent announcement. The Pro model will include a quad-curved OLED screen that is 6.83 inches in size and has a 1.5K resolution. In India, the phone might feature a different processor, but in China, it will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 chipset. The camera configuration may include a 50MP front camera, a 50MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 50MP main. The Pro model will include a 5,800mAh battery supporting 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, while the regular one will pack a 5,600mAh cell. The phones will have IP68/IP69 classification for water and dust protection.
