Maharashtra recorded 16 new coronavirus positive cases on Wednesday, taking the overall infection count in the state to 2,533, the health department said. Of them, four cases each were reported in Pune and Nagpur cities, three in Mumbai, two in rural parts of Pune district, one each in Thane city, Chandrapur and Pimpri Chinchwad near Pune.
Mumbai has reported 998 cases so far, including 551 in June and six in July.
The health department has conducted 31,238 tests across the state since Jan. 1, adding that a total of 2,415 patients have recovered till now.
No death due to coronavirus has been reported since Monday.
A total of 38 patients have succumbed to the virus in the state since Jan. 1, of whom 37 had comorbidities, the statement said.
