Chennai Power Shutdown On May 23: Check Full List Of Areas Affected In Tamil Nadu

Several neighbourhoods in Chennai, including parts of Sholavaram, Mylapore and Avadi, will face a planned five-hour power cut on May 23 due to maintenance work.

To ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply in the long term, the state electricity board regularly undertakes maintenance on the power infrastructure across different parts of Tamil Nadu. 

Over 50 locations across Chennai and the rest of Tamil Nadu are set to experience power cuts on Thursday, May 23, as scheduled maintenance work will be carried out by the Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation. 

To ensure a stable and uninterrupted power supply in the long term, the state electricity board regularly undertakes maintenance on the power infrastructure across different parts of Tamil Nadu. 

According to the electricity board, power will be disrupted between 9 am and 2 pm on May 23. But, as per reports, officials said that if the maintenance work is completed ahead of schedule, there are chances that the power will be restored.

Sholavaram

Sections of Sothuperumbedu, parts of Karanodai and Orakkadu Road, Kottaimedu, Periya Colony and Sembulivaram.

Mylapore

Santhome High Road, Dooming Kuppam, Dooming Lane, Mullaima Nagar, Srinivasapuram, East Circle Road, Madhax Church Road, Lazur Church, Rosary Church Road, Muthu Street, Appu Street, Syed Wahan Hussain Street, NMK Street, Kutchery Road, Nochikuppam, Papanasam Salai, Bazar Road, Kannila Street, Devadi Street, Nadu Street, Salai Street, Chithrakulam North, Thatchi Arunachalam Street, Abraham Street, Kesavaperumal Sanathi Street, VC Garden, RK Mutt Road, New Street, Solaiappan Street, Mandaveli 5th Cross Street, Venkatesa Agraharam, North and East Mada Street, Nallappan Street, Adam Street, Kumaraguru Street, Tiruvalluvarpettai and Jeth Nagar.

Avadi

Maittanamalli, PadaSalai Street, Ambedkar Street, M.C. Raja Street, Valluvar Street, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar (1st to 8th Streets), Brindavan Nagar (1st to 5th Streets), and the areas under IGP, CRPF, Garrison Engineering and the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Residents are advised to plan accordingly and stay updated on restoration times through official communication channels.
