Amarnath Yatra 2025 Registration Begins: How To Register For Pilgrimage, Dos And Don'ts — Key Details

The advance registration for Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025 went live on Monday, April 14. The Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2025 will begin on July 3 and conclude on August 9 this year. Devotees can register online in advance for their convenience through the pilgrimage committee’s official platform.

The yatra is annually held to honour Lord Shiva. Thousands of devotees annually visit the Kashmir-based holy cave shrine to pay their respects to the Holy Ice Lingam.

Steps To Register For Amarnath Yatra 2025:

  1. Visit the official website of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB): https://jksasb.nic.in/

  2. On the homepage, go to the 'What’s new' section. The link to register for the shrine is available on the top.

  3. Read the instructions carefully before registration. Toward the end of the page, agree to the terms and begin the form filing process.

  4. After filling out the form details, the applicants will be asked to verify their credentials through a one-time password.

  5. Following this, the application processing details will be sent to the registration number.

  6. The applicants will then be asked to pay the fee online.

  7. After successful payment, they will be able to download a Yatra permit provided by the board.

According to the instructions on the official website, pilgrims must keep in mind the following points before embarking on the yatra:

  • Medical certificate should be issued by doctor/hospital authorised in your state.

  • Photo file should be - .JPEG or .JPG only and size should not be more than 1MB.

  • Medical certificate should be scanned and uploaded in .PDF format only while registering. Size should not be more than 1MB.

  • Persons with age below 13 years and above 70 years are not allowed.

  • Pregnant women with more than 6 weeks of pregnancy are not allowed.

  • Carry your original Photo ID and Medical Certificate with you during the yatra.

The board advises the applicants to perform the following activities in advance to prepare for the shrine journey:

  1. Before starting the Shri Amarnathji Yatra, prepare your body. 

  2. Begin walking 4-5 km daily, at least a month in advance. 

  3. Practice deep breathing and yoga, especially pranayam, to improve oxygen intake.

  4. Drink plenty of water—about 5 litres a day—to stay hydrated and avoid headaches. 

  5. Eat foods rich in carbohydrates to maintain energy and prevent fatigue. 

  6. If you feel symptoms of altitude sickness, descend to a lower altitude immediately. 

  7. For any discomfort or signs of high-altitude illness, visit the nearest medical camp.

  8. Medical facilities are available every 2 km along the route to help ensure the safety of all pilgrims.

Applicants Should Avoid These:

  • Alcohol, caffeinated drinks, or smoke.

  • Don't ignore the symptoms of high-altitude illness.
