The top 10 most-valued firms lost a cumulative Rs 30,088.13 crore in market valuation on Friday, with ICICI Bank Ltd., State Bank of India and Reliance Industries Ltd. emerging as the biggest losers.
ICICI Bank's market capitalisation dropped by Rs 11,998.63 crore to Rs 8.70 lakh crore, while that of State Bank of India fell by Rs 6,871.96 crore to Rs 6.44 lakh crore.
Reliance Industries Ltd. witnessed a market-cap loss of Rs 6,563.2 crore, bringing its market cap to Rs 16.61 lakh crore. Infosys Ltd. and Bharti Airtel Ltd. lost Rs 4,214.55 crore and Rs 3,844.69 crore, respectively.
RIL retained its position as the most-valued firm, followed by Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., HDFC Bank Ltd., Bharti Airtel, ICICI Bank, Infosys, SBI, Hindustan Unilever Ltd., Bajaj Finance Ltd. and ITC Ltd.
Notably, India's benchmark equity market indices ended lower for the fourth consecutive session on Friday. The NSE Nifty 50 ended 117.25 points or 0.51% lower at 22,795.9, while the BSE Sensex closed 424.9 points or 0.56% lower at 75,311.06.
