Tata Motors Ltd., Shriram Finance Ltd., and Bajaj Finance Ltd. emerged as the top gainers for the day. On the other hand, Asian Paints Ltd., Sun Pharmaceuticals Ltd., and Bajaj Auto Ltd. were among top laggards of the Nifty 50.
The NSE Nifty 50 and BSE Sensex rose on Wednesday amid rising India-Pakistan tensions and ahead of US Federal Reserve meet. During the volatile session, the Nifty 50 declined 0.65% to the day's low of 24,220, and the Sensex fell 0.87% to the day's low of 79,937.48.
However, the benchmarks rose towards the end with the NSE Nifty 50 ending 34.80 points, or 0.14% higher at 24,379.60 and the BSE Sensex closed 105.71 points, or 0.13% up at 80,746.78.

Tata Motors was among the top performers among the Nifty 50 and closed 4.95% higher at Rs 680.30, after it fell over 2% on Tuesday. Shares of Shriram Finance gained 2.12% to Rs 636.65 at market close. Bajaj Finance and Zomato parent Eternal Ltd. were also among the top gainers. Jio Financial Services also rose over 1.95% to close at Rs 256.10 after it fell nearly 3.68% on Wednesday.
Asian Paints declined on Wednesday with the stock closing 3.47% lower. Sun Pharma shares declined nearly 2.10% on Wednesday to close at Rs 1,780.90. Shares of Bajaj Auto closed 1.21% down at Rs 7,849. Reliance Industries stock ended 1.05% lower at Rs 1,406 per share. Grasim Industries was also among the worst performers for the day.
