Century Plyboards Share Price Falls As Special Court Files FIR Against Independent Director

Century Plyboards India Ltd.'s share price fell on Monday after a special court filed a first information report against Pramod Agrawal, an independent director of the company. The complaint pertains to stock market fraud and regulatory violation.

Pramod Agrawal has served as chairman of BSE earlier. The present complaint is related to his capacity as ex-chairman of the stock exchange.

Century Plyboards India became aware of the matter through publicly available information, the company said in an exchange filing.

Century Plyboards India share price fell 4.74% to Rs 687.25 apiece. It was trading 3.51% down at Rs 696.15 apiece as of 1:25 p.m., as compared to a 0.06% advance in the NSE Nifty 50.

The stock declined 0.09% in 12 months. Total traded volume so far in the day stood at 0.3 times its 30-day average. The relative strength index was at 33.0.

Out of 23 analysts tracking the company, 12 maintain a 'buy' rating, eight recommend a 'hold' and three suggest 'sell', according to Bloomberg data. The average 12-month analysts' consensus price target implies a downside of 2.7%.
