The sale opens at 2 p.m. today on Flipkart and buyers who had registered earlier can only buy it.
Chinese handset maker Xiaomi is following the same flash sale strategy for its new handset after successfully doing it with an earlier model Mi3.
Xiaomi is estimated to have sold 90,000 units of Mi3 smartphone.
