With Kick, Salman Khan Breaks More Box-Office Records

Salman Khan-starrer Kick is now the actor's biggest grosser in overseas box-office markets. Kick, into its third week now, has collected approximately Rs 67.34 crore ($11 million) so far in overseas markets, trade analyst Taran Adarsh said in a tweet.

Kick in comparison in domestic markets has so far pulled in over Rs 227 crore, Mr Adarsh added. This makes Kick also the highest grosser for Salman Khan in domestic market.

Kick's success makes Salman Khan the first Bollywood actor to have seven Rs 100 crore movies to his credit, according to Mr Adarsh: Ek Tha Tiger, Dabangg 2, Bodyguard, Dabangg, Ready, and Jai Ho.

Kick is a remake of the hit 2009 Telugu film of the same name and the screenplay for the Hindi version was adapted by Chetan Bhagat and Sajid Nadiadwala, who's also the director-producer of the movie. The film has been released under the Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment banner.

Author Chetan Bhagat said he may try donning the director's hat when he needs a new 'kick' in life.

Kick is also the biggest Bollywood grosser in 2014. With Kick, director Sajid Nadiadwala has also moved into record books. He has become director whose first movie has grossed over Rs 200 crore.

Released on July 25, Kick also features Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, among others. Kick was released over 5,000 screens in India and as well as 42 other countries. (With Agency Inputs)
