Tara Jewels Surges 9% on Walmart Order

Tara Jewels shares surged as much as 9 per cent to hit inrtraday high of Rs 35.80 after the company said that it has secured an order from American multinational retail company Walmart.

Tara Jewels in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange said that it an secured order worth $8 million or Rs 53.44 crore for supply of diamond studded jewellery to Walmart USA. 

The order has to be delivered by October 15, it said.

Tara Jewels is an integrated player in the jewelry industry with experience ranging from designing to manufacturing and retailing of jewelry with a portfolio of products that includes studded gold, platinum and silver jewelry. The company has three manufacturing facilities spread across approximately 53,000 sq ft.

At 12:05 p.m., shares of Tara Jewels traded 2.12 per cent higher at Rs 33.65. As many as 23,000 shares changed hands on the BSE compared to average of 16,000 shares traded daily in the past two weeks.
