Rupee hits fresh 10-week high at 49.65 to dollar

In its blog post, titled 'Tweets Must Flow', the San Fransico-based micro-blogging company has said that it could "reactively withhold content from users in a specific country" if legally required to do so.

The Indian rupee strengthened by 43 paise to trade at fresh 10-week high of 49.65 against the dollar in trade today.

The rise in the rupee has been supported by continued foreign fund inflows. Euro's gains against the US currency overseas also supported the rupee. The Indian currency has been closely tracking the Euro.

At 1148 hours, the rupee traded with 0.90 per cent gains (0.45 paise) at 49.65/66 to the dollar.

Strong buying in the equity markets, where the benchmark Nifty index jumped above the 5,200 levels, also supported sentiments.

The rupee had ended flat at 50.08/09 against the dollar on Wednesday.
