NDTV Reports Profit of Rs 2.6 Crore in Q1

New Delhi: Media firm New Delhi Television Ltd (NDTV) on Friday reported a standalone profit of Rs 2.6 crore for the quarter ended June 2014.

The company had posted a standalone loss of Rs 19 crore for the corresponding period a year ago, it said in a statement.

NDTV's standalone revenue also increased 47 per cent to Rs 117 crore during the April-June quarter as against Rs 80 crore in the same period last fiscal year, it added.

"General News continues to be profitable and recorded an Ebidta of Rs 26 crore, an increase of Rs 20 crore compared to the same period last year," NDTV said.

The company's other channel NDTV Profit/Prime posted a net loss of Rs 11 crore during the quarter, it added.

Shares in NDTV, on Friday, ended at Rs 87.45 apiece on the BSE, down 4.01 per cent from the previous close.
