A massive fire that broke out on Thursday at the Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd.'s Bhopal unit, was brought under control around 1 p.m. The blaze at the PSU's manufacturing power plant started just after noon, though no one was reported to be injured in the blaze, PTI reported.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. Fire-fighting operations are underway and further details are awaited.
"On getting information, we rushed fire tenders to the spot to control the blaze. More water bowsers are being dispatched," Bhopal Municipal Corporation's Fire Officer Saurabh Patel told PTI.
No one was injured in the fire, BHEL Public Relation Officer Vinodanand Jha said.
According to people present in the premises, the flames were first noticed near gate No. 9 of BHE — where there was a dump.
