The top management of ICICI Bank have been asked to meet Labour Ministry officials for a joint discussion on 28 June, 2024 at 11:30 am in New Delhi over alleged illegal termination of employees, according to a document viewed and verified by NDTV Profit.
The joint discussion follows emails received by the ministry alleging the banker of illegal termination without prior intimation.
The document names the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Sandeep Bakshi, and individuals including Abhinay Rai, Sneha Ghodekar and Dharmendra Gupta —who have previously taken to social media claiming wrongful termination, and Nainish Ashok Kumar Rathi.
The document notes that the decision has been arrived at after a joint discussion held on June 14, 2024, and the Chief Labour Commissioner's office receiving various emails against the ICICI Bank alleging illegal termination without giving prior intimation.
Further, the document noted that emails alleged that the bank is "still continuing the same without following the process and policy."
"You are therefore requested to please attend the discussion either personally or through an authorized representative deputed from headquarter, who should be well conversed with the matter on the above-mentioned date, time and venue. Written submissions, if any, in this regard may be submitted in advance to this office endorsing a copy thereof to all the concerned," the document noted addressing the individuals.
