HPCL, Tata Motors, IDBI Bank in Focus Today

  1. Tata Motors will report its first quarter numbers today. Its consolidated net profit is likely to grow 121 per cent year-on-year (y-o-y) to Rs 3,823 crore whereas its revenue is likely to grow 32 per cent y-o-y to Rs 61,876 crore. Jaguar Land Rover sales is likely to come at 5,530 million pounds.
  2. HPCL will report its result for the April-June quarter today.
  3. Steel Authority of India will report its June quarter numbers today. Its net profit is likely to grow 14 per cent y-o-y to Rs 515 crore and its revenue is seen growing 10 per cent y-o-y to Rs 11,282 crore.
  4. DLF/Prestige Estates Projects: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) on Sunday approved setting up of real estate investment trusts (REITs). This move will help companies like DLF, Prestige Estates Projects, Phoenix Mills and Oberoi Realty to secure new source of equity financing by securitising their commercial real estate properties.
  5. GAIL (India) will announce its results for the June quarter today. 
  6. Eicher Motors will report its June quarter numbers today. Its net profit is expected to grow 71 per cent y-o-y to Rs 158 crore and its revenue is likely to grow 30 per cent to Rs 2,173 crore.
  7. Adani Enterprises: Adani Group is reportedly planning to sell their Abbot Point coal terminal in Australia for $2 billion. Adani Group had bought this in May 2011, when the coal boom was at its peak.
  8. IDBI Bank: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is reportedly investing a loan made by the IDBI Bank to debt-laden Kingfisher Airlines worth Rs 950 crore. CBI is looking into why the loan was approved when the airline has a negative net worth and a negative credit rating.
  9. Bajaj will launch its new Discover 150 motorcycle range this month in the domestic market. Its two models Discover 150S and Discover 150F have all-new 4 valved air-cooled 150cc engine and have reached select dealership.
  10. IRB Infrastructure Developers: The Bombay High Court has permitted the CBI to re-investigate RTI activist Satish Shetty's complaint against IRB chairman and managing director Virendra Mhaiskar for a land grab.
