Bharat Electronics Ltd., a Navratna defence public sector undertaking, secured an order worth Rs 3,172 crore from Armoured Vehicles Nigam Ltd.
The contract includes the supply and installation of an advanced, indigenously designed and developed fire control system for the tanks of the Indian army, along with a comprehensive engineering support package, according to an exchange filing on Friday.
The company also secured an additional order for Rs 481 crore. It comprises doppler weather radar, classroom jammers, spares, and other services.
In the current fiscal year, the defence electronics manufacturer won an aggregate order of Rs 4,803 crore, it said.
In February, BEL also secured a Rs 2,167.5 crore order from the Indian Navy to supply electronic warfare suites for use on-board warships.
Shares of BEL closed 0.56% higher at Rs 306.20 apiece, compared to a 0.27% fall in the benchmark BSE Sensex.
