Ola Electric Mobility Ltd. has unveiled its first electric motorcycle at prices comparable to those of 125-cc commuters.
Called the Ola Roadster X, the motorcycle shares its platform with the third generation Ola scooters that were launched recently. It gets two variants—Roadster X and X+—across five battery packs (2.5 kWh to 9.1 kWh), with a claimed 252-502 km. The top-end Roadster X+, with the 9.1 kWh battery, is powered by Ola’s in-house 4680 Bharat cell.
Prices start at Rs 89,999 and go up to Rs 1,69,999, ex-showroom. There’s an introductory discount of Rs 15,000. Bookings are now open. The deliveries will start in mid-March.
“India’s scooter electrification started with us three years ago. Today, we do the same with motorcycles,” the company’s Founder-billionaire Bhavish Aggarwal said at a launch event in Bengaluru. “Our motorcycle delivers 2X power, 25% more acceleration, and 40% higher speed than a comparable ICE motorcycle.”
