Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has launched the NU_IQ platform, a modular, multi-energy architecture set to underpin a new generation of SUVs starting in 2027, the company said in an exchange filing on Friday.
The announcement was made alongside the showcase of four SUV concepts — Vision.X, Vision.T, Vision.SXT and Vision.S. The company aims to expand reach in the global C-segment SUV market.
The NU_IQ platform represents Mahindra's automotive strategy, designed to offer flexibility across powertrains, drive configurations, and global market requirements, the company said. Engineered to support both internal combustion and electric vehicles, the platform offers flat-floor architecture, command seating, and superior driving dynamics and maintains top-tier safety standards and lightweight design.
Among the showcased concepts, the Vision X is a sub-4-metre SUV, aimed at urban consumers seeking a compact yet powerful mobility solution. The platform also introduces Vision.T and Vision.SXT, which expand Mahindra's portfolio into previously untapped segments, offering class-leading boot space, sci-fi-inspired tech, and intuitive NU_UX interfaces.
Mahindra's management also stated that the company is also investing in battery cell chemistry, with a focus on LFP batteries, to ensure durability and performance in its electric offerings.
With multiple top hats, FWD/AWD options, and LHD/RHD adaptability, the NU_IO platform is geared for both Indian and international markets.
