Earthquake Today: 7.1 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Tibet; Tremors Felt In Bihar

The epicentre of the earthquake was Xizang in Tibet, according to the National Center for Seismology (NCS).

A strong earthquake jolted Tibet near the Nepalese border today in the early morning on Tuesday. According to the National Center for Seismology (NCS), the quake occurred at 6:35 am and Xizang in Tibet was the epicenter of it. 

The earthquake was felt in neighbouring Kavrepalanchwok and Dhading districts in Nepal as well. People came out of their houses out of panic in Kathmandu.

However, there are no reports of any damage so far due to the earthquake. As per reports on NDTV, the tremors were particularly felt in several parts of India including Bihar, West Bengal where people were seen outside their houses and apartments.

As per NCS data, two more earthquakes struck the region later in the morning. One of magnitude 4.7 was recorded at 7:02 a.m. IST and another earthquake of magnitude 4.9 occurred at 7:07 a.m. IST.
