US President Donald Trump on Friday claimed that Iran was 'about to surrender', as the war continues on Day 14.
According to Axios news, Trump made the remark during a virtual meeting with G7 leaders.
Axios News cited inputs from three officials from G7 countries, who have been briefed on the contents of the call on Wednesday.
Trump also has boasted about the results of Operation 'Epic Fury', and told allies, “I got rid of a cancer that was threatening all of us."
While claiming Iran was about to surrender, he also suggested there were no officials left alive in Tehran with the power to make that decision.
"Nobody knows who the leader is, so there is no one who can announce surrender," Trump said, according to two officials briefed on the call.
However, the G7 leaders expressed concerns about the growing economic fallout of the war between Iran and US-Israel and they reportedly told Trump to end the war quickly.
The leaders stressed that the Strait of Hormuz must be secured as soon as possible, the officials have told Axios, adding that Trump told the leaders that the Hormuz situation was improving and commercial situation should resume operations in the area.

“We need to finish the job to avoid another war with Iran in five years,” officials quoted Trump as as saying in the meeting.
Axios has tried to get a comment from White House, and the request has been turned down.
On Thursday, the Iranian Supreme Leader issued a statement on state television and vowed to keep fighting and avenge the killings that the “zionist regime” and the United States have perpetrated in his country.
Ayatollah Mojtaba Ali Khamenei also asserted that the Strait of Hormuz would stay closed, as a “pressure tactic”.
Iran has shown no signs of surrendering whatsoever since the beginning of the war on February 28.
