WhatsApp has started rolling out a new premium subscription plan called "WhatsApp Plus" for a limited number of iPhone users. According to a report by WABetaInfo, the new plan adds extra features focused on app customisation, stickers, chat management and notification controls, while keeping the main messaging experience unchanged.
The feature is currently available to select users running WhatsApp for iOS version 26.17.74. But not all users will see the option to subscribe right away as the rollout is expected to expand to more accounts over the coming weeks.

List Of Features Included In WhatsApp Plus
Premium Stickers
WhatsApp Plus introduces premium sticker packs with animated overlay effects. These sticker packs are optional to download and are not available to users on the standard version of WhatsApp. At the same time, if a subscriber shares a premium sticker in a conversation, non-subscribers can still view the animation directly inside the chat window.
App Theme Customisation
Subscribers can also customise the app using 18 different accent colours. The available shades include Vibrant Blue, Royal Purple, Deep Navy, Coral Orange, Forest Green, Burgundy, Emerald Green, Crimson Red, Sunset Orange and Golden Yellow.
Alternate App Icons
WhatsApp Plus also includes 14 different app icons with multiple visual styles. The icon collection includes light green outlined versions as well as black-and-white styles designed for a more minimal appearance.
Pin Up To 20 Chats
The premium subscription increases the chat pinning limit on WhatsApp. Standard users can currently pin only three conversations at the top of the Chats tab. With WhatsApp Plus, subscribers can pin up to 20 chats.
Upgraded Chat Lists
WhatsApp Plus upgrades chat list controls. Subscribers can apply the same chat theme, notification tone and ringtone across multiple chats within a single list.
Premium Ringtones
The subscription introduces 10 exclusive call ringtones. According to the report, these tones “are designed with a more contemporary sound style compared to the default options.”
Pricing And Subscription Model
WhatsApp Plus follows a monthly subscription system with automatic renewal enabled by default. The report said pricing currently varies by market. In parts of Europe, the plan is listed at €2.49 per month while users in Pakistan have a monthly fee of PKR 229. In Mexico, the subscription appears at $29 per month.
Users can manage, renew or cancel the subscription through the Apple App Store settings. To avoid being charged for the next cycle, the cancellation must be completed at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Some users may also receive a free trial offer lasting either one week or one month before the paid subscription begins.
