Motorola has officially launched its new mid-range smartphone: the Moto G87. The Moto G87 stands out with its 200MP primary rear camera — which Motorola claims is the best for a G-series Moto phone to date — and comes powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset. It has a 32MP front camera, a 6.78-inch Amoled display, a 5,200mAh battery, and offers robust protection with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings, along with MIL-STD-810H certification. The Moto G87 also improves audio performance over the previous-generation Moto G86.

The main highlight of the Moto G87 is its camera array, which boasts an all-new 200MP primary sensor with optical image stabilisation. The camera supports 2x lossless zoom and up to 10x digital zoom and comes accompanied by an 8MP ultrawide lens. A 32MP camera capable of recording up to 2K video takes care of selfies and video calls up front.
On the display front, the Moto G87 sports a high-quality 6.78-inch 1.5K Extreme Amoled panel with a high peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits and 120Hz max refresh rate and supports 10-bit color and 100% DCI-P3 gamut. The display comes protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i and is certified for SGS Low Blue Light and SGS Low Motion Blur. The device is rated IP66, IP68, and IP69 for resistance to dust and water.
The Moto G87 is equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 processor with up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, and features Motorola's Hello UI based on Android 16.
Powering the smartphone is a 5,200mAh battery with 30W TurboPower charging. The Moto G87 enhances the audio experience, with Motorola claiming it has 280% more powerful audio than its predecessor. The device also includes Dolby Atmos-tuned stereo speakers.
Among its AI features are Auto Smile Capture, along with Google's Chat with Gemini and Circle to Search. For security, the Moto G87 comes with face unlock and fingerprint sensor. Additional highlights include 5G connectivity, USB Type-C, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, and various sensors for enhanced functionality.
The Moto G87 has a lean, light make, measuring just 7.38 mm in thickness and weighing 183 gm. It sports a premium leather-inspired exterior finish and is available in Pantone Overture and Pantone Blue Atoll colourways.
