In a twisted tale of sorts, Apple launched the iPhone 16e priced at $599 (Rs 59,900), rather than a more advanced yet affordable iPhone SE. The iPhone 16e packs advanced tech, including the A18 Bionic chip, 6.1-inch OLED display, 48MP Fusion camera, Apple’s in-house C1 modem, Face ID, and Apple Intelligence. However, it is also missing some top features that were expected.

Here’s a list of top 8 missing features on Apple iPhone 16e.

1. MagSafe

MagSafe has been a feature available since the release of the iPhone 12 series in 2020. However, the magnetic array that helps compatibility with MagSafe charging stands (for effective charging) and securely clamp on accessories is missing in the iPhone 16e. The iPhone 16e is also limited to Qi wireless charging at 7.5W, while the iPhone 16 and 16 Pro have MagSafe compatibility up to 25W.

2. Dynamic Island

Tech insiders had whispered that iPhone 16e could have Dynamic Island, whose interactive user interface is great for multitasking and liked by many. However, the iPhone 16e has a screen cutout for Face ID sensors and 12MP front camera, just like the older iPhones, and misses Dynamic Island, a feature found in Apple’s premium range.

3. Ultrawide Camera

Even though the iPhone 16e boasts a single 48MP Fusion camera with an integrated 2x telephoto lens, the ultrawide camera is arguably the most obvious feature missing in its camera pack. So, wide-angle and macro photos, including outdoors, expansive landscapes, concert crowds, and more, will be greatly limited.

4. Camera Features

The iPhone 16e does not support Photographic Styles released in September last year or portraits using Focus Control. Unlike the iPhone 16, there is no tapping option to change the photo’s subject. Video recording options, such as Cinematic and Action modes, are absent too.

5. Camera Control

The Camera Control is included with all other iPhone 16 models, but not the 16e. The camera is triggered by this touch-sensitive button, which also allows users to change exposure, zoom in, and alter settings. The innovative and practical feature has gone missing in the budget device.

6. GPU Core

The iPhone 16e has four GPU cores, one less than the five-core GPU in the iPhone 16 series, which means multimedia might run a tad slowly with lesser cores.

7. Display

The iPhone 16e’s maximum brightness is 800 nits, whereas the iPhone 16 range usually hits 1,000 nits. The iPhone 16 can also reach up to 2,000 nits outside, which isn’t possible in the 16e.

8. Connectivity

With Wi-Fi 7 and Wi-Fi 6E, Apple improved wireless networking of its more expensive iPhones. The iPhone 16e, on the other hand, stays on Wi-Fi 6. Additionally, the iPhone 16e does not support the Precision Finding feature in the Find My app for AirTag compatibility because it does not have an ultra-wideband chip.
