DeepSeek will stop distinguishing between peak and off-peak API pricing on weekends fro m Aug. 23, with usage on Saturdays and Sundays charged at off-peak rates, the company said in a notice Saturday.
The new rule takes effect at 12:00 a.m. Beijing time on Aug. 23, while fees incurred before then will continue to be settled under the previous pricing standards, according to the notice.

DeepSeek introduced varied pricing earlier this month, with peak rates set at twice off-peak levels. Under the framework, peak periods run from 9 a.m. to noon and 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Beijing time, and output pricing for the DeepSeek-V4-Pro model reaches 27 yuan ($4) per million tokens during peak hours.
