In a move to tackle the spread of misinformation, Perplexity AI has rolled out a new WhatsApp-based tool to verify forwarded messages in real time. The announcement was made by CEO Aravind Srinivas through a post on X (formerly Twitter), generating widespread interest and overwhelming user engagement.
Announcing this feature, Srinivas wrote, "You can now forward any WhatsApp message to Perplexity: +1 (833) 436-3285 and get it fact checked instantly. This is super useful when WhatsApp groups are filled with a ton of forwarded messages which could be misleading.
