Apple is hiring for multiple roles in Chennai in a bid to launch its corporate office in the capital city of Tamil Nadu. This comes weeks after the tech giant signed an agreement to lease space for its first dedicated corporate office in the city.

The move signals an expansion of Apple's footprint in India, signifying the country's importance in the Cupertino-based company's long-term growth plans. The US tech giant will also open another store in Mumbai, CEO Tim Cook revealed during the company's Q1 2026 earnings call.

Apple Posts Jobs For Chennai

According to the company's official job portal, Apple has listed openings for multiple positions in Chennai. The job roles pertain to retail, sales, development, operations and supply chains. The positions on offer include Technical Specialist, Manufacturing Quality-Engineer, Business Expert, Major Account Business Manager - Enterprise and Subject Matter Expert, PVD/Coatings.

As per News9Live, Apple has reportedly signed an agreement to lease about 20,000 square feet of premium office space at the DLF CyberCity (Downtown) IT Park in Porur. The facility will be the iPhone maker's first corporate office in Chennai, and will oversee and manage key operations as a Global Capability Centre (GCC). This places Chennai as another major hub alongside Bengaluru and Hyderabad for Apple's corporate functions in India.

Apart from Chennai, Apple is also hiring for its Hyderabad operations. A PTI report, earlier this month, stated that the roles have led to speculation that the company could open a retail store in the city.

The tech giant opened its first store in India in Mumbai's BKC in 2023, followed by outlets in Delhi, Noida, Bengaluru and Pune.

However, for its upcoming outlet in Mumbai, the location has not been confirmed. Earlier reports suggested that the site could be located in Borivali's Oberoi Sky City Mall.

During the earnings call, Tim Cook said Apple recorded robust double-digit revenue growth in India, registering its strongest December quarter to date. The growth was driven in part by the tech giant's expanding retail presence in India. Apple's CFO, Kevan Parekh, added that the firm's installed base in the country also increased at a double-digit rate, highlighting the market's long-term importance.
