Central Bank Of India Q4 Results: Profit Jumps 28%, Board Approves Rs 5,000-Crore Fundraise

Central Bank Of India Ltd. on Monday reported solid growth in its bottom-line in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2024-25.

Standalone net profit jumped 28% to Rs 1,034 crore in the January-March quarter, compared Rs 807 crore in the year-ago period, according to an exchange filing.

Asset quality improved, with gross non-performing assets falling 68 basis points sequentially to 3.18% of the total loan book. Net NPA improved to 0.55% from 0.59%.

Provision coverage ratio stood at 96.54%, with an improvement of 296 basis points, on a year-on-year basis.

Central Bank of India Q4 Highlights (Standalone, YoY)

  • Net profit up 28% to Rs 1,034 crore versus Rs 807 crore.

  • Net interest income down 4% to Rs 3,399 crore versus Rs 3,541 crore.

  • Gross NPA at 3.18% versus 3.86% (QoQ).

  • Net NPA at 0.55% versus 0.59% (QoQ).

The bank's total business in fiscal 2025 grew by 10.37% year-on-year to Rs 7.03 lakh crore, driven by increases in both deposits and advances.

Total deposits rose by 7.19% to Rs 4.13 lakh crore, with current account and savings account deposits accounting for 48.91% of the total, growing 4.79% year-over-year to Rs 2 lakh crore.

Gross advances increased by 15.24% to Rs 2.9 lakh crore.

The credit-to-deposit ratio improved significantly by 554 basis points to 71.13% as of March 31, 2025, indicating efficient utilisation of deposits.

Central Bank Of India Dividend, Fundraise

The Central Bank of India board recommended a final dividend of Rs 0.1875 per equity share for fiscal 2025, subject to the approval of the shareholders at the ensuing Annual General Meeting.

The board also cleared a capital raising plan via share sale for fiscal 2026, aggregating to Rs 5,000 crore.

The public sector lender may raise funds via follow-on public offer, rights issue, qualified institutional placement or preferential issue or any other mode or combination thereof and /or through issue of BASEL III compliant AT1/Tier II Bonds or such other securities as may be permitted under the applicable laws subject to necessary regulatory approvals.

Shares of Central Bank of India closed 1.55% higher at Rs 37.4 apiece, ahead of the results, compared to a 1.27% rise in the benchmark BSE Sensex.
