We Focus On 'Bachat Bhi, Vikas Bhi': Says PM Modi In Lok Sabha
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his gratitude to the public while presenting the Motion of Thanks to President Droupadi Murmu's address in Lok Sabha.
We focus on 'Bachat bhi, Vikas bhi,' said Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his reply to the motion of thanks on the President's address in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday.
"I would like to thank the people of India," he said, adding, "I am honoured that I am presenting a motion of thanks to the president for the 14th time.
The PM further stated that President Droupadi Murmu's address will give strength to the Viksit Bharat Program.
Focus On AI, Defence, Space Sector
PM Modi noted that according to him, AI has two meanings—artificial intelligence and aspirational India. "As the 21st century is a technological century, we need to focus on it and be prepared for the future," he said.
"We opened a lot of sectors for the youth. We opened the space sector, defence, innovation, semiconductors, the startup ecosystem, and the nuclear energy sector," he said in his address. "We have focused on AI, 3D printing, robotics, and the virtual realities and gaming sector. Making India a leader for the gaming sector is also in our mind."
"In this budget, we have approved 50,000 tinkering labs in India. We have also focused on deep tech," he said.
"We are constantly working for the youth. But some parties are betraying the youth. They give false promises to the people during election season," he said, taking a dig at Congress.
Poverty Eradication
PM Modi highlighted that 25 crore Indians came out of poverty as of 2025. He said that this happened as per the strategic planning and Yojnas. "For five decades we heard Gareebi Hatao slogans, but this happens only through right policies. We didn't give false hopes to the poor but gave an honest hope," PM Modi taunted the opposition against poverty issues.
Water, Housing And Sanitation
PM Modi highlighted that, as of now, 4 crore people got homes, as per PM Awas Yojna. "Not everyone can understand the difficulty of living under thatched roofs & when dreams are crushed," he said.
"Those who do photo shoots in slums will likely find a poor man's words 'boring,'" PM takes 'Mr. Clean' jibe against Rajiv Gandhi. We implemented policies that put the money back in our citizens' accounts.
We removed names of such 10 crore frauds and provided facilities to the real beneficiaries, he said. Today, 11 lakh crore is allocated to infra projects in the budget 2025-26.
"We have constructed 12 crore sanitation facilities to help our female citizens," said the PM.
"We have given 12 crore household water connections in the last 5 years, plus we are further going ahead in full steam. "Some ministers' focus is only on jacuzzis, but our focus is on providing water to every household," he said.
"When people from the heartlands of India and from the lands make decisions, then it helps in transforming the ground realities," the PM taunted the opposition.
He further mentioned that through the Swachh Bharat Mission, the government received Rs 2,300 crore by selling waste.
