Operation Sindoor: Key Highlights From Army Press Briefing
Videos shown during the briefing confirmed the destruction of camps, including Markaz Taiba in Muridke, where the 2008 Mumbai attackers were trained.

India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri shared key details about Operation Sindoor in a press briefing on Wednesday. The strike was launched in response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack that killed 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali tourist.
Colonel Sofiya Qureshi confirmed that the Indian Armed Forces carried out precision strikes on nine terror camps across Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir between 1:05 a.m. and 1:30 a.m. on May 7. She stated that the operation was conducted with restraint, avoiding any Pakistani military installations or civilian areas to prevent wider escalation.
Here are some key highlights from the briefing.
Operation Sindoor Based On Credible Intelligence
Wing Commander Vyomika Singh said the operation was based on credible intelligence and was designed to dismantle active terror infrastructure without harming innocents.
Investigation Revealed Links To Pakistan
Foreign Secretary Misri described the operation as focused, measured and non-escalatory. "Investigations into the Pahalgam terror attack have bought out the communication notes of terrorists in and to Pakistan," he said.
No action had been taken by Pakistan against these elements in the two weeks following the attack. Intelligence indicated more attacks were being planned, making it essential for India to act pre-emptively, Misri said
Officials stressed that Pakistan continues to shelter terrorists and that the group claiming responsibility for the Pahalgam massacre, the Resistance Front, is a known front for Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Nine Camps Destroyed
The camps targeted as part of the operation included Lashkar-e-Taiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed facilities. Markaz Taiba in Muridke, Markaz Subhan Allah in Bahawalpur, Sawai Nala in Muzaffarabad, and Gulpur in Kotli were among them. Other camps like Syedna Bilal in PoK, Sarjal and Mehmoona Joya in Sialkot, and smaller camps near the LoC in Barnala and Kotli Abbas were also destroyed. These camps served as training centres, arms depots, and operational bases for recent and planned attacks in India.

Prepared For Any Pakistani Misadventure
Indian armed forces fully prepared for any Pakistani misadventures that might escalate the situation, said Wing Commander Vyomika Singh.
"India has demonstrated considerable restraint in its response. However, India Armed Forces are fully prepared to respond to Pakistani misadventure, if any, to escalate the situation," she said.
Operation Sindoor, they said, was India exercising its right to self-defence, aiming to dismantle cross-border terror infrastructure and deter future attacks. No civilian casualties have been reported in Pakistan so far, and the mission, according to officials, was successfully completed with precision and responsibility.
