Delhi Lok Adalat On May 10: Timings, Documents and Other Key Details About Settling Pending Traffic Challans
The National Lok Adalat will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 10, 2025, across all seven district court complexes in Delhi.
The Delhi State Legal Services Authority (DLSA) will hold a National Lok Adalat to settle outstanding traffic challans on May 10, 2025. The special Lok Adalat will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at all seven district court complexes in the National Capital.
The authorities have set an ambitious target to clear up to 1.8 lakh pending traffic challans, with 180 benches allocated to handle around 1,000 cases each.
The Lok Adalat will be held across seven court complexes – Dwarka, Karkardooma, Patiala House, Rohini, Rouse Avenue, Saket and Tis Hazari. Only compoundable traffic challans issued on or before Jan. 31, 2025, will be eligible for settlement.
These challans must also be available on the Delhi Traffic Police Portal.
For those seeking to resolve their pending traffic violations, there are specific limits on how many challans can be settled. Private vehicle owners are allowed to clear up to seven notices or challans, with a cap of five notices and two challans. Commercial vehicle owners, on the other hand, are allowed to settle up to two notices or challans.
Certain challans will not be eligible for settlement in the Lok Adalat. These exclusions include non-compoundable notices, cases that have already been rejected, notices that have been paid or disposed of, and those that have been transferred to regular, evening, or digital courts.
How Vehicle Owners Can Participate
To participate in the Lok Adalat, vehicle owners must download and print their challans from the Delhi Traffic Police website. The download option will be activated from 10 a.m. on May 5, 2025. There is a daily download limit of 60,000 challans, which will continue until the overall cap of 1.8 lakh is reached.
Once downloaded, participants must print their challans as no printing facilities will be available at the court complexes. They will also need to attend the court complex listed on their challan printout, as per their assigned time slot.

How To Obtain A Lok Adalat Token
To ensure participation, vehicle owners must register for a Lok Adalat token. Here’s how they can do it:
Visit the Delhi Traffic Police website at https://traffic.delhipolice.gov.in/.
On the homepage, click on the ‘Delhi State Legal Services Authority’ link, which will redirect to the token registration page.
Complete the registration form by providing all the details as required.
Submit the form.
You will get a confirmation message with a link to download the Lok Adalat token.
Lok Adalat, or the ‘People’s Court,’ is a platform for alternative dispute resolution, designed to resolve cases and disputes amicably. As defined under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, the decisions made by Lok Adalats are legally binding, with the status of a civil court decree. The awards given by Lok Adalats are final and no appeal can be made against them in any other court.
