Expect a Quick Rebound in Gulf Oil Output After Hurricane Nate

(Bloomberg) -- Buried in an offshore oil and natural gas report that the U.S. government has been issuing daily on the hurricane-turned-tropical depression Nate is this line: “No damages have been reported.” If that holds true, Monday's report may show a jump in oil and natural gas production in the Gulf of Mexico.

Chevron Corp. and Enbridge Inc. were already returning workers to offshore platforms Sunday, and the U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement said in Sunday's report that it expected facilities to be “brought back on line immediately” after operators had done the standard checks.
