The box office is currently witnessing a clear divide between a steady success, a modest performer and a struggling title. As the theatrical run progresses, O' Romeo, Assi and Tu Yaa Main are showing sharply contrasting trends in both collections and audience traction.

Shahid Kapoor and Triptii Dimri's O' Romeo continues to lead the race by a wide margin. The Vishal Bhardwaj directorial has crossed the Rs 60 crore mark in India by Day 15, maintaining a consistent hold despite the usual weekday dips.

After a strong opening week of over Rs 47 crore, the film managed to stay stable in its second week and added to its total with steady footfalls, particularly in urban centres. The period action drama's scale, star power and recall value have helped it remain the audience's first choice, even as new releases arrived in theatres.

In comparison, Anubhav Sinha's Assi, headlined by Taapsee Pannu, is witnessing a far more modest run. The social drama wrapped up its first week at Rs 6.95 crore and added only a small amount on Day 8, taking its total to just over Rs 7 crore net in India.

While the film has found some appreciation for its subject, the limited growth after the opening weekend indicates restricted theatrical pull. Occupancy levels remain low in most circuits, with only a few pockets showing slightly better footfall.

The toughest phase, however, belongs to the survival thriller Tu Yaa Main, starring Adarsh Gourav and Shanaya Kapoor. Now in its third weekend, the film is struggling to show any meaningful jump. On Day 15, it collected roughly Rs 0.12-0.18 crore, pushing its overall India net to around Rs 5.1-Rs 5.2 crore.

Made on an estimated Rs 20 crore budget, the film has recovered only a small fraction of its cost so far. Weak word of mouth, heavy competition from bigger titles and low initial turnout have prevented it from building momentum. Even during weekends, when collections typically rise, the growth has remained minimal.

The performance gap becomes even more evident when the three films are viewed together. While O' Romeo has emerged as a clear commercial winner with a strong and sustained run, Assi is moving at a slow but steady pace in the lower range, and Tu Yaa Main continues to remain among the lowest earners, with its lifetime total expected to stay in the modest zone.

With new releases lined up in the coming weeks, the current trends suggest that O' Romeo will continue to dominate the box office, while the other two films may soon wrap up their theatrical journeys with limited numbers.
