The incident took place after Jattana's SUV was parked on the expressway due to a flat tyre. The crash has raised concerns over road safety on high-speed corridors, especially for vehicles halted due to breakdowns.

Punjab Congress president Amrinder Singh Raja Warring expressed grief over Jattana's death. “It is sad and extremely devastating for us that we have lost a dynamic and promising young leader Khushbaz Jattana in a tragic road accident today,” he said.
