Rekha Gupta, a first-time MLA of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has been named as the next chief minister of Delhi. The announcement was made following a meeting of the BJP Legislature Party on Wednesday.

While the 50-year-old has been chosen for the top role, Parvesh Verma, who emerged as the giant-killer by defeating former CM Arvind Kejriwal in the recent elections, could be named by the BJP as the deputy CM, reports said.
