Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday virtually inaugurated Hero Future Energies' Rs 1,000-crore green hydrogen plant at Rockman Industries in Tirupati.
The facility blends green hydrogen with Piped Natural Gas and Liquefied Petroleum Gasfor industrial heating. Equipped with a 300 kW Proton Exchange Membrane electrolyser, the plant is powered by a 1.1 MWp rooftop solar system. It can blend green hydrogen up to 10% in LPG and 3% in PNG.
“The success of this project offers a blueprint for industries such as glass, steel, petrochemicals, and chemicals to adopt hydrogen-based solutions without the need for extensive infrastructure overhauls,” Naidu said on social media platform X.

March 3, 2025AdvertisementThe plant has an annual green hydrogen production capacity of 25 tonnes per annum, which can be expanded to 54 TPA. It employs 2,000 people and is expected to reduce carbon dioxide emissions by 206 TPA while releasing up to 195 TPA of oxygen into the atmosphere.
Naidu called the initiative a milestone in India's clean energy transition, highlighting its role in Andhra Pradesh's SwarnaAndhra@2047 vision. He also pointed to the state's Integrated Clean Energy Policy - 2024, which aims to add over 160 GW of renewable energy capacity and attract investments worth up to $119 billion in the next five years.
