The Election Commission has announced the final results for 40 assembly seats in Mizoram. Zoram People’s Movement has won in 27 seats and is set to form a government.
ZPM: 27 seats
MNF: 10 seats
BJP: 2 seats
Congress: 1 seats
Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga called on Governor Hari Babu Kambhampati on Monday evening and submitted his resignation following the debacle of his party, PTI reported.
The MNF won nine seats and is leading in one, while the opposition ZPM bagged majority by securing 27 seats in the 40-member House.
The ZPM won the Kolasib, Chalfilh, Tawi, Aizawl North-I, Aizawl North-II, Aizawl North-III, Aizawl East II, Aizawl West-I, Aizawl West-II, Aizawl West-III, Aizawl South-I, Aizawl South-II, Aizawl South-III, Lengteng, Tuichang, Champhai North, Champai South, Tuikum, Hrangturzo, South Tuipui, Lunglei North, Lunglei East, Lunglei West, Lunglei South, Lawngtlai East and Serchhip seats.
The ruling Mizo National Front won seven seats and was leading in three. These include Mamik, Tuirial, Serlui, Tuivawl, East Tuipui, West Tuipui and Thorang.

The Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) is all set to form the next government in Mizoram after the party swept the elections bagging 26 seats in the 40-member House on Monday, PTI reported.
Mizoram Chief Minister and MNF candidate Zoramthanga lost to ZPM's Lalthansanga by 2,101 votes in the Aizawl East-1 seat, according to the Election Commission.
Lalthansanga secured 10,727 votes, while Zoramthanga got 8,626 votes, it said.
Mizoram Results: Zoram People’s Movement bagged 12 seats, while maintaining a lead on 15 others. Meanwhile, CM Zoramthanga's MNF has won two seats and is leading on eight others.
