Texas and Florida See Largest Population Gains

The population of the Lone Star State has increased by 494,622 since January 2017.

(Bloomberg) -- They say everything is bigger in Texas. The population of the Lone Star State has increased by 494,622 since January 2017 -- the biggest gainer among U.S. states, according to government data. Florida is No. 2 with an increase of 410,347.

It’s a different story in West Virginia, which experienced a decline of 12,961, the biggest loser among six states with shrinking populations. Illinois followed with a loss of 11,525.
