Delta Corp net profit up to Rs 16.38 cr in July-September quarter

Delta Corp Ltd, India’s only listed gaming and hospitality company, today posted a net profit of Rs 16.38 crore for the July-September quarter, up from Rs 4.92 crore in the same quarter a year ago.. Revenue for the quarter stood at Rs 193.38 crore, driven by sales of some of Delta Corp’s real estate holdings in its Africa venture. Revenue for the same period last fiscal was Rs 49.45 crore.. Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation and Amortisation (EBITDA) too jumped to Rs 47.34 crore from Rs 15.59 crore in the same quarter last financial year.. Operating profits continued to hold strong, as Earnings Before Interest and Tax (EBIT) for the September quarter increased to Rs 45.41 crore from Rs 14.11 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, lead by a 92 per cent jump in the gaming and hospitality business.. Delta Corp’s core gaming and hospitality business contributed Rs 43.37 crore to gross revenue, a 15 per cent increase from the corresponding quarter last financial year.. “Our strong numbers prove that the gaming and hospitality industry in India is poised for long-term growth,” said Jaydev Mody, Chairman, Delta Corp. Ltd. He also announced that the company is planning to launch 4 new ventures within the next 6 months.. Basic earnings per share (EPS) stood at Rs 0.71 per piece against Rs 0.24 in the corresponding quarter in the previous fiscal year.
